Do you need support with daily living tasks or getting around?

If you are struggling to manage daily activities at home, you may want to consider approaching your local council for an assessment under the Care Act.  You can find out information about what you can expect on the NHS UK social care and support page.

You may also wish to consider applying for Personal Independence Payment (PIP).  PIP is a benefit that is designed to help with the extra costs associated with having a long term health condition or impairment.   Many people find it difficult to understand how to fill in the PIP form, but there is a lot of information available on the turn2us website, to support you to make the claim.

Is there any guidance on ‘reasonable adjustments’?

This is a very complicated area of employment law, but there is a lot of information for disabled people, as well as guidance on reasonable adjustments for employers, on the Equality and Human Rights Commission website.

We would also be happy to provide you with specific support, information and guidance to your particular situation.  If you need our assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Do you know where I can find information about access to services?

Logo for MeIncluded

MeIncluded is a disabled access review website.  By coming together and sharing experiences, disabled people can create the largest and most influential community of disabled access reviews across the UK – building a picture of the quality and reliability of disabled access and facilities in the UK, and how accessible individual businesses and services are.

MeIncluded then work with businesses, to ‘shine a light’ on where they do well, where they need to improve and to better understand what matters to their customers and their employees.
